Frequently Asked Questions for Employees

What is the RAPIDGate® Program?

The RAPIDGate® Program from Eid Passport® provides a credential for vendors, suppliers, service providers, and contractors that require access to a secure installation. Participation is voluntary. The RAPIDGate Program performs background checks and authenticates participants' identities. Upon passing the background check, each individual receives a personalized RAPIDGate Credential. The participant presents the RAPIDGate Credential at Installation entry gates to receive authorization to enter. Company enrollment and employee registration are renewable yearly.

What are the benefits of the RAPIDGate Program?

The RAPIDGate Program can save you time and money through the following features:
  • Shorter wait times to access the Installation = lower costs and better customer service
  • Consistency in access procedures
  • Virtually eliminates trips to Pass and ID Office or Visitor Center
  • Access for as long as a year
NOTE: Effective October 31, 2011, all Navy installations are eliminating all long-term badges other than the RAPIDGate Credential. Implementation schedules may vary. If you decide not to register in the RAPIDGate Program, you may be required to get out of your vehicle and wait in line at Pass and ID each day you access the installation.

Why is this installation offering the RAPIDGate Program?

In response to federal security directives, Government installations are implementing more restrictive security procedures for installation access. To maintain and improve business relations with vendors and contractors, installations are implementing the RAPIDGate Program to streamline access under the more restrictive security policies.

What is NCACS?

NCACS is the Navy Commercial Access Control System designed to manage access control and privileges for non-CAC eligible vendors, contractors, sub-contractors, suppliers, and service providers. The RAPIDGate Program, provided by Eid Passport, Inc., is the selected solution to meet the NCACS requirements.

What do I need to know about the RAPIDGate Program?

When you register for the RAPIDGate Program, your information will be used for background checks and identity authentication. After qualifying for the RAPIDGate Program and receiving your RAPIDGate Credential, you will use your credential to request entry to Installations for which you are approved. The RAPIDGate Credential includes your photograph, a barcode for scanning at ingress, and various security features to deter fraud. At most Installations, you must wear and display the RAPIDGate Credential at all times while you are onsite. The RAPIDGate Program performs background checks on a regular basis to verify continued eligibility in the RAPIDGate Program. The RAPIDGate Program maintains rigorous safeguards to protect your privacy. For further information and privacy details, please see the RAPIDGate Individual User Agreement.

What is the cost of the RAPIDGate Program?

  • RAPIDGate Program: 1 Year/1 Installation = $159 per Employee
  • RAPIDGate-Enterprise Option: 1 year/Unlimited Installations = $199 per Employee
  • RAPIDGate-90 Option: 90 Days/1 Installation = $59 per Employee

How do I register in the RAPIDGate Program?

To register for the RAPIDGate Program, simply go to a self-service RAPIDGate Registration Station located on the Installation. You will need your RAPIDGate Company Code (ask your company's RCA), a current address, phone number, date of birth, and Social Security Number for identity proofing and background check. The Registration Station will take a photograph and digital fingerprints for the RAPIDGate Credential. Once screened and approved, your company RCA will receive an email notifying them when and where you can pick up your credential.

What is a RAPIDGate Company Administrator (RCA)?

The person designated by your company as the RAPIDGate Company Administrator (RCA) is responsible for managing of the RAPIDGate Program for your company. RCA duties include approving/removing employees, providing payment and billing, completing the Company Enrollment Form, etc. Your RCA is the person who receives receipts, credential pickup notifications, other program notifications, phone calls and emails from Eid Passport.

How do I activate my credential?

Call 1-877-675-6943 to activate your RAPIDGate Credential. The RAPIDGate Credential will allow you access within 24 hours.

How long is the credential active?

The RAPIDGate Credential will allow access to the installation for up to one year until expired or deactivated. Participation must be renewed annually or valid access is revoked.

When can I receive a credential?

Once the RAPIDGate Registration is completed and Eid Passport receives approval and payment a background check will be processed. This can take approximately 10-14 business days.

How do I access the installation while I wait for my RAPIDGate credential to arrive?

Once you have enrolled in the RAPIDGate Program at a Navy Installation, you can present your receipt to Pass and ID and receive up to a 28 day pass for interim access onto the installation. The receipt will be sent to your company RCA once the registration has been paid for and processed. The interim pass is offered at the discretion of each installation and not by Eid Passport. You will need to contact the installation you access to get information about available pass options.
NOTE: Some installations may run additional background checks and will not issue a 28-day pass until the installation background check is cleared and a receipt is provided.

What happens if the credential is damaged/lost?

If your credential is damaged or lost, please call 1-877-727-4342 immediately. The RAPIDGate Program will deactivate your damaged/lost credential and will manufacture a new RAPIDGate Credential and send it to the first installation at which you registered. Your company will be notified when the credential arrives. You will be required to present valid identification to pick up the new RAPIDGate Credential.
NOTE: There will be a $30 replacement fee.

What causes an employee to fail a background screen?

  • Felony Convictions
  • Registered Sexual Offenders
  • Open Wants or Warrants
  • Hits against the National Criminal Database Screen (FBI Most Wanted, OFAC, ICE, INTERPOL, etc.)
  • SSN inconsistencies

What happens when an employee fails their background check?

The results of the background check are mailed to you. Your company's RCA is emailed a fail confirmation. If you feel the information or results of the background check are incorrect you can adjudicate (challenge) the background check results. If the data on the background check is accurate, you may also request a waiver from the installation for access.

How far back does a background check go?

The background screen goes back as far as the county and national record data exists.

Does a DUI disqualify me?

DUIs usually are misdemeanors and misdemeanors do not disqualify you from this program. However, if you are convicted of a DUI and it is deemed to be a felony, then you do not qualify for the RAPIDGate Program.

If I pay and fail the background screen do I get a refund back?

No. The background check has been run and results are in.

What hours can I get assistance from RAPIDGate Support?

Assistance is available from 2AM to 7PM Pacific Standard Time, Monday through Friday. Hours are extending, please check online for updated times.

Can someone access the installation with me?

No. Each person accessing the installation must have a valid credential for access.

Do I have to enroll even if I have another valid contractor credential?

Work with your company RCA to determine if the current credential you are using is a valid credential for access.
NOTE: Effective October 31, 2011, all Navy installations are eliminating all long-term badges other than the RAPIDGate Credential. Implementation schedules may vary. If you decide not to register in the RAPIDGate Program, you may be required to get out of your vehicle and wait in line at Pass ID each day you access the installation.

Can Minors enroll in the RAPIDGate Program? If I am under 18 years of age, how do I access the installation?

Minors cannot enroll in the program due to different consent and background check laws. Refer to the installation's own policy and procedures to access the base.
