NAVAL AIR STATION JOINT RESERVE BASE NEW ORLEANS IMPLEMENTS THE RAPIDGATE PROGRAM
Enrollment and Registration Begins for New Access Control Procedure for Vendors, Suppliers, Service Providers and Contractors
BELLE CHASSE, LA – August 4, 2010: Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base New Orleans (NAS JRB New Orleans) is now offering company enrollment in the RAPIDGate® Program. The program is part of a Navy initiative to increase security and streamline installation access. Vendors, suppliers, service providers and contractors who participate in the patented program, offered by Eid Passport, Inc., receive a year-long access credential after they pass a background screening process and are approved by the installation. Credentials are electronically scanned and verified by security personnel in a matter of a few seconds.
Recent changes in Department of Defense (DoD) and Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) security directives require the implementation of tighter security requirements to access Navy installations resulting in longer delays for people who do not sign up for the RAPIDGate Program or do not have a Government-issued Common Access Card (CAC).
“Today marks the first day NAS JRB New Orleans companies can enroll in the RAPIDGate Program and we are excited to offer them this streamlined access solution,” said Eid Passport CEO Steve Larson. “By making a small investment in this program, companies who regularly access the air station will receive a substantial return on investment through streamlined access resulting in time saving and increased productivity.”
Company enrollment for the RAPIDGate Program began, August 2, 2010 with employee registration beginning yesterday, August 3, 2010. New Contractor passes will no longer be issued by the installation after August 31, 2010. Some Contractor passes will continue to be renewed, on a case by case basis, until certain construction projects are complete. Companies who do not enroll in the RAPIDGate Program will be required to obtain a day pass, a vehicle pass or decal and will be subject to mandatory vehicle inspections.
Companies who wish to sign up for the RAPIDGate Program or who are already enrolled at another installation and wish to receive access approval at NAS JRB New Orleans may contact 1-877-RAPIDGate (1-877-727-4342) or visit www.RAPIDGate.com to learn more about the program.
About the RAPIDGate Program
The RAPIDGate Program (www.RAPIDGate.com) provides a voluntary identity and access management solution for vendor, supplier, contractor and subcontractor personnel who enter secure facilities. It provides multiple layers of physical security checks including: validation of employment status, identity authentication, background screening, biometric verification and entry authorization verification. Access control personnel can process RAPIDGate credential-holders in seconds, which improves gate efficiency, saves companies time and money, and improves customer satisfaction. One RAPIDGate credential may be used to request access to multiple participating installations for even greater convenience, efficiency and return on investment. The RAPIDGate Program already serves thousands of companies and tens of thousands of RAPIDGate credential-holders who enjoy streamlined access into Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security and National Aeronautics and Space Administration facilities across the continental U.S. and Hawaii. The RAPIDGate Program contains products and services subject to U.S. Patent No. 6,779,721 and 7,631,805.
